the false king visits
#1

it turned out those icelanders maps didn't help much in trying to get back home and soon once more the king and his retinue were lost once again. after traveling at the bottom of the sea for a good few days Inera had decided to take landfall. crawling out of the sea they found themselves in some kind of woodlands pushing through they found some farming villages. the story grey frog opened its mouth letting Inera to step out as he examined his surroundings seeing the disturbed farmers staring at him. "of course more savages." he said barely whispering to himself not caring if anyone heard him, if Inera could he would almost definitely be rolling his eyes at this point. "Hey at least its not cold this time" Kapes reponed as she joined his side stepping down from the frog with him. "Well then hello to you all if you don't mind could you tell me where i am?"

A man stepped forward from loading a wagon and spoke up. "Lost are ye? Not hard to do out in the fields like these, I'd say. Once you get in the middle of 'em, they all look the same! But yer less than half a days ride from Chail if you know where yer going, but since you don't seem to be from around here I'd advise taking the road. Just head straight in that," he pointed, "direction and yer gonna hit the road leading to the Queensway, that'd be the Frost's Kenning. Take it south and then turn left once you get to Queensway, that'll take you right to Chail in a day or so. Turn right and it'll take you to Bastion in a day or three, depending on your speed, of course."

Most everyone else had went back to their duties, seeing that someone had handled the newcomers. The man gave a polite smile and a nod after he had finished speaking.

"well then thank you, farmer, good luck on whatever the Yesh your growing." with a wave of Ineras hand the king along with Kapes returned to the insides of the frog making their way to Chail. arriving at the busy city Inera had instead at leaving the frog to look around and despite Kapes many protests he had won in the end walking at the side of the frog his staff taping with a metallic tang on the cobblestone road with his every step following him as he examined the stalls. Chail from what he had seen was a dream a place where he could steal buy enough treusers to refill his empty halls. as such it took all his energy and mental fortitude not to rob this place it seemed he wasn't very good at hiding this desire from others as he could feel Kapes giving him a death glare not letting him slip out of her sight.

Inera under heavy supervision was able to get some intromission from one of the vendors finding out they were in that large area that the fleet had marked down as the Queensland. this made Inera even more interested in the area as it opened a world of posabluldys to him and his kingdom and so he made his way to where the stall owner said where the queen was at a large central building. and there he was arguing with the guards outside of where this so-called queen was at, trying his damnest to get in causing a ruckes at the entrance.

"I've told you once I've told you a thousand times, the Queen is indisposed! She is not meeting with common peasants such as yourself!" The guard said, snidely. The ruckus however had caught the attention of other city folk and as such there was quite some gawking happening, putting a lot of attention on the group that came from far away. Another guard, this one clearly higher up than the general city guard strolled over to the group and asked the group in general with annoyance, "What is this going on and why are you causing trouble in my city?" The guard captain turned to the city guard. "And you, you have already received reprimand for your behaviours. Do not make me institute harsher measures."

The city guard blanched, not realizing his superior had overheard. He nodded with a quiet 'yes sir', before slightly lowering his head, cowed. The guard captain turned back to the group with a stern look, waiting for a hasty reply.

"like ive been saying to that half-wit I am no mear pesent i am the god-forsaken king Inera of Maylla and I have come here to seek a meeting with your queen." Inera said greatly annoyed and slightly enraged, a large Croke came from the frog behind him cutting him off before he could continue. turning around Inera looked into the eyes of the upset frog before turning back to the guard captain. "and while we are meeting with your queen i would also like to get some food for Odus here as their rather hungry."

The guard captain looked somewhat suspicious. "I suppose there's no harm in inquiring as to a meeting, if you are who you say you are." The captain crossed his arms. "The beasts need to be taken to the stables. They will not be permitted inside Bastion. Once the stable hands know what they eat, they'll be fed and left to rest. Have one of yours take them there, and if you important folk will follow me inside I will leave you with the chamberlain. Most likely you'll be put in a side room to await an answer from the Queen."

"fine" Inera said dismissingly waving his hand off to the side, in response the Coral gideed the frog to the stables. Kapes and Inera both followed the guard into the building entering the side room waiting to meet the Queen.

After some time, the chamberlain entered the room. Much less gruff than his counterpart but every bit as self assured, he approached the men and gave a bow. "If I may inquire good sirs, have you any documentation as to your persons? Surely you must understand that not just anyone may secure a private meeting with the Queen herself. I shall not bother her without first receiving some kind of documentation as to your identity..."

A knock sounded on the door, and the chamberlain went to open it. A guard stood on the other side and spoke in hushed tones. The chamberlain turned around and clapped his hands as he looked at their guests. "It seems the Queen has already gotten word of you. If you will follow me."

They were led through hallways and up stairs until they got to a map room. The room had half burned candles and a half full glass still set on the table. It looked as though it had been used as a meeting room at least very recently. Two Queen's guards were stationed on either side of the door and as they entered, they saw the Queen stand from next to the table. She greeted them with a customary bow and a smile on her face.

"You've caused quite the commotion in my city, I hear. Come and sit and tell me about your journey."

the two stone men complied sinking into the seating. "There isn't much of a story to tell we were traveling and got lost and ended up here." Inera said with a shrug. "once i relised where i was i thought i would make you a offer. in exchange for something of value i will send a contingent of my army to aid you in this little chaos problem."

Aynia raised an eyebrow and took a moment to think. Finally she said with a polite smile, "A contingent of what army, if I may ask? I'm afraid that I don't exactly know who you are, but I'm very curious and invested now. You seem to have stumbled your way in and seized an opportunity. I assume you are aware of who I am, but please tell me who you are and what exactly you are asking for."

"my army of course I am the king of Maylla a undergrown kingdom we have opened our doors to you topsider in the first time in what a 1000 year? But to see your people fall so soon to this 'Chaos threat' Would be a great shame." Inera said dramatic pride dripping off his words as he spoke. He kept the fact that the real reason he's helping is the fact it would be a pain to 'aquire' artifacts from this queendom if he was constantly under attack by some freaky flesh monsters.

"And so in exchange for the small price of a historical artifact I can represent your people I will aid you in this fight."

Aynia was as intrigued as ever. There had been no announcement of this king coming to her doorstep, and she was skeptical that they had gotten lost, but with so few men and having lived underground for so long, it would be natural they had no knowledge of the layout of the Queensland. She decided to humour him, she could use the entertainment after an especially stressful while.

"Hmm..." she started, "What kind of artifact, if I may ask? And what guarantee do I have an army will show up if I give you this artifact you so desire?" She thought for a split second. "I'll tell you what," she added, "If you have a sizable contingent of soldiers arrive at the docks of Bastion, I will grant your request. If... the artifact you are going to ask for is reasonable, of course."

"Deal based of my travels it will take a week once poor Odus is ready." if Inera could smile he was certainly doing so now as he countued. "Now that's out of the way I am something of a collector you see, and with your kinds short stay on this rock i would like to be given something to rember your kingdom by if something oh so unforcenet happened to it."
