Petitioning the Throne

Courtiers may petition the throne for legislative changes, introduce new legislation or repeal legislation. There is a process for petitioning the throne, as follows:

Any Courtier may write legislation affecting the region. Once the legislation has been written, it may be posted to the Oireachtas for discussion. When the Courtiers are satisfied with the proposal, they may sign the petition. Once a petition reaches five signatures it may be introduced in the Throne Room for Royal Assent.

In the event of a petition being granted by the Monarchy, it shall take effect immediately and be added to current legislation, unless stated otherwise in the petition. The Monarchy shall be in charge of record keeping but may delegate this task to a Courtier of their choosing, with the title of Orator.

In the event of a petition being denied by the Monarchy, the proposal may be reintroduced to the Oireachtas for discussion, and resubmitted to the Throne Room for Royal Assent providing it has reached five signatures.

On Treaties

Treaties shall be handled by The Master of Whispers. When a treaty has been written to satisfaction, it shall then be introduced to the Throne Room for Royal Assent. If Royal Assent is granted, the treaty shall take effect immediately. If Royal Assent is denied, the treaty may be submitted again providing updates have been made.
